  • e-GCMS (IRCC or CBSA)

Request electronic GCMS notes from either IRCC or CBSA.

Your e-GCMS records may include application processing details, available immigration officer notes, assessments, and other information recorded in relation to your Canadian immigration file.

This option is suitable for applicants who want to better understand the status or processing of their immigration application, investigate a delay, or review available officer notes following a visa or immigration decision.

    Choose: IRCC or CBSA

    Estimated delivery: Approximately 35 days

  • GCMS +

Request your electronic GCMS notes together with the application filed with IRCC, supporting available documents and correspondence sent to and from IRCC relating to your immigration or visa application.

    GCMS+ may include:

    • Electronic GCMS notes
    • Available application documents
    • Supporting documents
    • Correspondence sent to or received from IRCC

This option provides a more complete collection of available records for applicants who want more than the electronic GCMS notes alone. Available for records requested from IRCC or CBSA, as applicable.

    Estimated delivery: Usually 30–40 days

  • e-GCMS (IRCC + CBSA)

Request electronic GCMS notes from both Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

IRCC and CBSA may hold different information relating to an immigration application. Requesting records from both departments can provide additional insight into your application's processing history and available officer notes.

This option may be useful for immigration applications when you want a broader view of your immigration file without waiting to make separate requests.

    Estimated delivery: Approximately 35 days

  • CBSA or CSIS

Request available records from CBSA or the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS).

This option may be appropriate if you are seeking information relating to security screening or other immigration processing information held by CBSA or CSIS. CBSA requests may also be used to obtain available Travel History Reports or border crossing records.

Estimated processing time: Approximately 30–40 days

  • CBSA + CSIS

Request available records from both CBSA and CSIS.

This option may be useful when security screening appears to be contributing to an extended immigration application processing time and you want to request available information from both departments.

Records released may provide information relating to your immigration application's security screening or processing, depending on the information held and released by CBSA and CSIS.
